Happy Halloween

The one thing about being the Principal of an elementary school is that you really never get to grow up.  Every year I still but new school clothes and supplies, have a school picture taken  and go in the Halloween costume parade at school.  Right now I am sitting here in a Snow White costume and Jolene is dressed as a big Christmas present. The fun just never ends!  I am going to try to set up Yugma, it is my understanding that it is a program that allows others to share your desk top, which will enable someone to guide you as you actually are  working through the program.  Well I have to go because my little dwarfs (kindergarten kids) are calling me to go on the parade.  Hey!  Good job Brian on your pod cast.   Have a Happy Halloween Everyone! Last Night

Well aside from my brain fart last night it was very productive evening.  I managed to set up my blog roll to include everyone, I added everyone’s links to google reader, added delicious, I joined others wiki spaces and I added other widgets to my blog.  I have not yet got my new computer but I am very excited about it.  Dana I really can’t wait to see your ugly mug on my computer screen and I expect you to fix yourself up before our broadcast lol.  I have a question- I’m I the only one out there who has no clue as to how to even start the written assignment we are to do?  GLEN HELP!  Looking forward to our meeting on Saturday.   So from what I can gather I have spent about $2200.00 bucks on this course so be prepared Glen,  I am not giving up until I get an A.  But just remember I am the monkey brain who was touching the screen to connect the phone line, so you might have your work cut out for you. Dumb Dumb

I am sharing this before Jolene does. We are at school and are laughing so hard I think I am going to pee in my pants.  I have now confirmed to Jolene that I am an idoit.  I was having a conversation with Cheryl and was cut off, so in order to try to connect with her I was touching the green phone button with my finger on the monitor over and over again with great frustration.  When Jolene asked me what the hell I was doing I continued to touch the screen and swear.  I am telling you guys it was a howl.   Now you all know just how untechie I am.

I found the egg.

I was able to locate the egg and find out when our meeting date is.  I have to say that I have never had a huge interest in computers,  but after doing some of the assigned activities I am in the process of buying a new lap-top with all the bells and whistles.  Who knows maybe I will become a tech teacher someday (not likely).   Well just a quick note to say hi.

O.K. I am catching on somewhat

I am kind of getting things.  To be truthful I was not going to take this course because I thought that I would be way out of my league, but so far I have managed to catch on.  I have set up my g-mail, blog, set up a skype account (can not use the video and audio because my computer does not have these features, so I went on with Jolene) and a reader.  I have to admit that Jolene has been a tremendous help and I know I would not be this far without her.   I do have to be careful that I do not rely on her too much because I know that the best way for me to learn new things is to play around with the program myself.   She has said that teaching me has also helped her retain and practice the new skills she has learned, I guess we are the perfect pair. 

I really do think that skype is a excellent program.  I have known this type of technology has been possible for sometime, however, it really never struck my interest until I actually used it.  I guess that I thought it would be too difficult to use.  I could not believe how slick it worked, especially when you have the right equipment.  I could see this being a great teaching tool not only for communicating information between parents, students and teachers but for doing class projects.  With this technology students have could actually get involved in doing a project with a student from another city or country if things were planned properly.  It is amazing to me that we can actually do things that seemed so futuristic on shows like Star Trek back in the day.
