Just another WordPress.com weblog

Hey!

I haven’t got my new computer yet.  I have to commend my school divsion they are now offering to pay for half the lap-top and I pay for the other half (on payroll deductions) as long as I use my new computer as my main work computer.  That way I would  give up my desk top in  my office and it would go into a classroom.   They are piloting this with 8 people in the district right now, but are going to make this deal available to all employees in mid Dec.  I  think this is a very creative way of getting teachers to become more computer literate, thier plan is to get the computers in the hands of the teachers and naturally thier skills with become stronger as they now have the computer to experiment with at home. As far as the course, I am going to try to use yugma this week and do a trial pod cast.  I am starting to feel like I am falling behind,  it just takes me so long to catch on to things and then I find that if I don’t practice my new skills I lose them.  I think this is because the whole tech thing is very intimidating to me.   Wish me well on my assignments this week.

See Ya!

  2. Keep plugging away at Angele….having worked with you and the whole “technology” part of our partnership, I feel that you have come a long way. I can see that your confidence with technology is growing. The only way to learn is through trial and error.

  3. Frontier School Div. had a similar deal going when I was in Area 5. Yours sounds a little less expensive for the staff. Good.
I can relate to your comments. Keep going and good luck!

  4. Good Luck Angel: Just make sure that your new laptop comes with a burger tool to cook on the fly on your way out to… what’s the name of that place your cabin is located on?

PS: My “Making Eeducation Wwork” research/intervention project has provided me with my own laptop. Not only do I have highspeed services at home but I’m wireless as well…

  5. Sounds terrific Angele. I know that you’re going to enjoy your laptop when it arrives. Does this mean that you’ll be carrying your laptop back and forth every day?
